Botswana Gender Based Violence Prevention and Support Centre (BGBVC) is a NGO registered in Botswana with the Registrar of Societies, and has extensive experience implementing projects both on GBV and HIV at community level. BGBVC is led by a dedicated Board of Directors, composed of individuals with experience in development projects, who meet on quarterly basis to review BGBVC operations and provide strategic guidance. The Management team is also composed of qualified and experienced individuals, with extensive knowledge in project management and the local context of implementation. The team is led by a Chief Executive Officer, supported by the Programs Director.  BGBVC Management is guided by systems that are in place, including: human resource policies, procurement and financial policies, and communications policies; the internal controls are in place and adequate to manage internal financial and operational risks and are enhanced by segregation of duties in authorization of funds.External Audits are performed annually by an accredited and regulated audit firm, appointed by the Board of Directors, to gauge internal controls and advice management accordingly. The operational documents and systems are subjected to periodic review and approval by the Board of Directors for compliance with local laws.

From 2012 to date BGBVC has managed and expended grants close to BWP 20, 000 000, and has since demonstrated strong financial management systems and the ability to effectively manage donor funds. In addition, the organisation has a good track record of mobilizing both financial and technical resources as cost share. Over and above that, BGBVC has a Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, staffed with qualified personnel, with knowledge and capacity to design comprehensive monitoring and evaluation frameworks that are adaptive to monitor and evaluate program results to respond to the information requirements of donors and to aid program planning and management, as well as contribute to successful implementation.
